Let’s imagine that we have found a way to communicate with plants and begin to understand each other. Sooner or later they will want to know more about humanity. What do we tell them that we cut down the best of them? We sit and eat on their corpses? We burn their leaves wrapped in paper and inhale the smoke with pleasure? We cut their children and mix them with oil squeezed out of them and call it a salad? Let’s not try to talk to the plants.
