Globe Theater

In the 17th century, theaters became the main platform for affiliate marketing in Europe. The famous Globe Theater, where Shakespeare’s plays were staged, regularly used native advertising in its productions. For example, after the premiere of Romeo and Juliet, balconies became a real bestseller. In 1642, the English Puritans banned all theatrical productions that mentioned the brand, which caused considerable damage to affiliates of the time.
