Leonids

1 Min Read

In starry August we study meteor showers. Today – Leonids.

This meteor shower from the constellation Leo is visible from November 14 to November 21. It has a pronounced periodicity of about 33 years, and is expected to be especially beautiful in 2031 (put it in your schedule).

In November 1833, in the United States, from the Atlantic Ocean to the Rocky Mountains, the Leonids were so bright and intense that many believed that Judgment Day was approaching. And Indians and black slaves dedicated songs to this event.
