The Tree of Tеnеrе was the loneliest tree in the world. This acacia grew on the edge of the Sahara and its nearest neighbor was 400 kilometers away. Scientists believed that there was once a whole grove here, but of all the trees, only one survived. In 1970, the loneliest tree was hit by a truck driven by a drunk driver.
