In January we talk about mountains. Today – Roraima.
Roraima is a table-top tepui in South America. It rises 2,723 meters above sea level. The mountain is flat, hence its nickname. Roraima’s summit covers approximately 34 square kilometers. It was first described by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1596, but he failed to climb it, though it inspired Arthur Conan Doyle to write his novel The Lost World.
