In February we talk about photography trends. Today – Pictorialism.

 

Pictorialism is a movement in European and American photography from the second half of the 19th to the early 20th century, in which photography approached painting. It had many representatives, including the writer Lewis Carroll, whose photograph Saint George and the Dragon is described as “staged.” We would never have guessed it, as it all looks quite realistic.
