In the 60s, the Soviet Union developed a plan to divert Siberian rivers to Central Asia. The reversed rivers could fill the Caspian and Aral Seas, and turn the arid steppes into gardens. Now that’s a grand plan. Fortunately, these plans remained just plans, but sometimes these ideas reappear in the information space.
