In February we talk about photography trends. Today – Cyanotype.
Cyanotype is hardly a trend; it’s a type of color printing using light-sensitive iron salts. The process was invented in 1842 by the English physicist and astronomer John Herschel. It was used to produce photocopies of drawings and documents. Nowadays, it’s more of an exotic practice for photographers. Remarkably, even if a faded photograph is damaged, it can be restored to its original state after being stored in the dark.
