In September we talk about most serene places of the world. Today – Salar de Uyuni.
Salar de Uyuni is a dried-up salt lake in the Central Andes of Bolivia, covering an area of 10,582 km². The interior of the lake is covered by a layer of rock salt ranging from 2 to 8 meters in thickness. During the rainy season, the salt flat is covered by a thin layer of water, transforming it into the world’s largest mirror-like surface. Among other things, the location served as the setting for the planet Crait in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”. We haven’t been there ourselves, but we imagine it is quite quiet.
