How to build an affiliate website. Part 2

In the first part of our guide, we met the Maestro and he invited us to dinner “to learn the art of cooking,” which somehow was supposed to help us create websites.

We sat down at a table outside in a cozy restaurant, the weather was wonderful and we made our order. Giacommo Scrollo chose the most expensive dishes, from which we concluded that we would have to pay. Therefore, we limited ourselves to Caesar salad and carbonara.

“At the heart of every masterpiece,” the Maestro began his teachings, breaking open an out-of-season snow crab with a crunch, “There is a plan, so you must come up with its design, its skeleton, so to speak, in advance. And when you come up with an idea, put the “About the company” section in the farthest corner, and generally place the “Contacts” section so that no one will find it, and you will think that you are the first person on earth to think of this – congratulations. You can move on to choosing a domain name.”

Having finished the crab alarmingly quickly, the Maestro moved on to eating Spanish jamon (and let me remind you, we were in Italy), and washed it down with wine from the year when we were not yet born. This did not stop him from telling us with an important air about domain registration.

“Think of your site’s name as if you were naming a dog. The name should be short, clear and original. Because dogs with unoriginal names will never become a reason for dating. Don’t choose a name for your site that is easily misspelled, belongs to another company, or it looks like an indecent word. By the way, this rule also applies to the name of a dog. You see, you learn not only the art of creating websites, but also other life wisdom.”

We lost our attention a little, thinking about the price of the check, when Giacommo ordered himself a second bottle of wine, more expensive than the first. And he, snacking on exotic cheeses, told us about how to choose the right web hosting and these were completely trivial things about loading speed and security. We started to lose patience. Noticing this, the Maestro hurried to order the bill, of course citing the fact that he had forgotten his wallet and invited us on a short boat trip. Not wanting to spend money on renting a yacht, we suggested just taking a walk along the coast and didn’t notice how we ended up in a seafood cafe again.

Here Giacommo was guided by the same logic – he ordered everything that was more expensive out of season or not found in local waters. His further discussion on creating a masterpiece affiliate website can be shortened to WordPress. But it was clear that he was captivated by the topic; he spent a long time describing to us his favorite plugins and free themes for design. We even had to interrupt him and ask what is important in the design of the site.

“The design of your logo and your brand, of course,” he answered surprisingly briefly. We replied that we had already come all this hard way studying the art of creating banners.

Giacommo, not at all upset by this news, offered to drink more exclusive wine and thereby consolidate the invaluable knowledge we had received today. We politely refused, but then we thought that we only live once and agreed.

“Excellent, perfect,” the Maestro was truly delighted, “It seems that today you have learned something. Next time we will go to study real art, and this will complete your knowledge of creating an ideal affiliate website.
